We were extremely lucky to have access to a cabin on Mayne Island for a week. It was a perfect way to connect as a family, to hang out and veg. There was a lot of eating, drinking and napping….
Waiting to get on the ferry. “Puppy! Puppy!” There were lots of puppies getting on the ferry, Hannah was in her glory visiting with various dogs and their generous owners:

On the ferry (I just so cute!):

We brought bubbles with us, and Hannah loved them. Sadly, we only did it once, since daddy accidentally spilled the stuff after a great first session. (Note the scrapes on Hannah’s face after taking a tumble–she is getting so fast with her semi-mobility these days, it’s hard to keep up with her.)

“Wock, wock!”
Hannah wanted to rock in the rocking chairs out on the deck. Constantly. She’s stand at the patio doors, look out and bang on the glass shouting “Wock, wock!” until we got dressed and got her out there. Things were OK for a while until she wanted to stand. A child that could barely walk properly, wanted to stand upright on the seat of the rocking chair and rock. Argh.
I have a picture of myself at this age in almost exactly the same position looking much like Hannah:

There was lots of reading and drinking involved in this holiday. By everyone. My friend had left a delicious pile of mags by the side of the couch. I went through every one of them. Such a frivolous way to spend time. I loved it.

And then there was a hike. Hannah protested quite a lot of the trip, and then…there was quiet. I had no idea she knew how to sleep in the Beco!

Daddy did his fair share of looking after Hannah, also known as “Boo Wrangling” It always involved two velvet red cushions, Hannah’s Playmobil, some rough and tumble play, and a bellybutton.

“Aihpl.” (airplane):

“Blehbleah.” (bellybotton):

Daddy’s blehbleah:

“…And where’s Hannah’s bellybutton??”

She has had a total fascination for finding her bellybutton and anyone else’s as well. At dinnertime, she often will try to stuff beans, rice kernels or pasta shells in it. She’s a determined little girl! At diaper changes, often a bean or a rice kernel will fall out of her bellybutton. LOL!
“Dadaaaa!”
Hannah would sit at the table, eat her dinner and look at this painting across from her. It cracked us up to hear her happy “Dadaaaah!”
